While I agree the best option would be making it mecha based, that's quite a lot of work for the poor hangar mods. However, if they're willing to go through with it, I guess it's a valid option.
I don't really see the reason for there to be two factors that determine how well a class can dodge. As it is a Mazinger pilot can dodge 3 times in a 100 PC fight with no DC mods. If they get a Dodge Pool of, say, 50 (as was in the tests) that becomes a single dodge, effectivly making tanking much, much weaker than it currently is. Conversely, Valkyrie Pilots and Sei Senshi would become practically untouchable, particuarly SS taking into account Aura Barrier and the fact that almost all of their class units have Bunshin (3/5). I'm not saying I'm totally against the idea of it being class based, but there would need to be a lot more testing if it were to be based off that.
It makes little sense for dodging to be based off Fight stipulations, but it's also the simplest answer. Alternativly they make a set dodge pool for everyone and let the class DCs do their work.

One thing that was said and I agree with, is that if it's class-based, there isn't really any reason to keep minimum DC. How well you dodge is determined by your pool size, then.
As for unit-based, I'm alright with that as long as I can get support from the other Hangar mods (read: Eis) to help with serieses that I don't know a lot about, and general balancing.

Actually, when I brought up the fact that single hits would be made even weaker by this new doding proposal, I didn't necessarily mean that converting to the dodge pool would make them weaker (in fact, they might make them slightly stronger).
Rather, I was talking about the fact that this new dodging proposal would allow for renewable[/i] dodging would make single hits weaker. Facing off against a Valkyrie Pilot or a Sei Senshi with a Resupply or Greater Perseverance-esque dodge replenishing ability with nothing but single hit attacks on you will make things incredibly difficult, even if the opposing unit doesn't have bunshin or a barrier.

How is it all that different from going up against a tanker with low damage weapons?

Tanking has been nerfed rather repeatedly lately - you can down a tanker with nothing but low damage weapons now.. you just have to have a whole lot of them.
And, it's not difficult at all to boost the damage of low damage weapons in order to deal enough damage to make even tankers cringe.

And you can take out a dodger with a lot of single hits, too. Same thing. In fact, it would probably be easier, since a "dodger" has much less SP then a tanker, and the dodge replenisher costs more.
Converse to your addition, it doesn't take much to boost the DC, either.

It would Easier to take out a dodger with single hits execpt for the fact that When you Dodge you Keep your attack Phase. So While you're shooting that Dogder and he does his Thing, he could Still Attack You.

You can tank without blocking. Armor, HP Regen, Kiai, Potential, Iron Wall, there are a LOT of damage reduction effects available for that. Some setups even allow you to become totally invincible if you know what you're doing.

i rather that DC Pool be pilot base, we can remove the Min DC so tankers wont have problem with LOW Dodge Pool since they can once again knock there Dc to 5.
As for Dodger vs Tanker, lets just say in the right circumstances, neither is invincible. But i do agree that a Dodger with a replenishable Dodge pool is more daunting. But in the end its just comes to circumstances and who got the better game plan imho

I'm for pilot-based pools. It is the pilot, after all, who determines mostly determines how good a mech can perform.
However, I'm also inclined to giving mechs a -small- dodge pool bonus as well. Good pilots can make bad mechs look good, but good pilots in good mechs can really shine. It will take a lot of work, though, on the part of the hangar mods.
And so, I'm thinking it would be cool to have dodge capability modified by both mechs and pilot classes.
Of course, a lot of the more agile mechs have DC bonuses anyway.

why not just have mechs with High -DC also gives Dodge Pool + Bonuses?

Min dodge costs were enacted to stop exactly that kind of thing.

One, Yuusha as they are now hardly deserve the DC minimum they have.
Two, it doesn't matter if your dodge cost is 5 if the pool you're drawing from is significantly smaller. A Yuusha would only have about half again as much as most dodgers, although probably more than a Dynamic class.

Balancing the pool with our current system of DCs could be odd, though. If a Yuusha has DC -15 to dodge for 5 PCs, he's going to dodge four times more often than at his base 20 or whatever. That's a significant difference no matter how large or small his dodge pool is.

Another note to take into account: Dodgers can't SD. I'm surprised I haven't seen it brought up in this thread. As far as blocking goes... what if there was a 'full evasive' action that lowers your DC at the cost of your attack phase? An analog to blocking for dodgers.
