As an extension of my last topic on multihits, I'd like to propose a new type. This type of multihit would deal with weapons that have multiple fixed barrels that fire, but only on a single target. Basically, this type of multihit (let's just use * for now) would count as 1 attack for evasive actions (Flash, bunshin, dodging), but multiple hits for everything else (items, barriers, etc). So, if we had a weapon like: Triple Machine Cannon (S)- 6 damage * 3, 10 rounds You can either dodge the whole thing once, or barrier it 3 times. Comments?

It'd be a good idea for most multihit melee attacks too, I think.
* is what I use for damage multipliers, though. =/

Bah, semantics.
Any symbol is fine, it's just the concept we're working on now. # or ^ could work, too.

I think the concept is good. Some of those weapons are way better than they should be, and are part of the reason that dodgers are screwed.

That's a pretty good idea. Would such multihits count as 1 or multiple for the purposes of stuff like Blue Haro?

For Fortune, it would be 1, since that's a dodge. For the bonus PCs, it counts as multiple hits.

Looks good.
*Ponders about the massive modifications I will have to make for most of my dressups after this...*

One thing that came to mind.
Maybe you should make it that only weapons with fixed barrel pointing at one target firing SIMULTANEOUSLY gets nerfed like that.
Some of the fixed Multi-barrel weapon have been shown to be able to fire separately, as in not all at once, but one after the other, often at different time intervals, which makes them similar-looking to (X)s at times. One example would be the Altaerion's G-Accel Driver, as the maneuver GRaMXs animation shows.
I don't know how you guys make the stats though, so I could be wrong here, in which case I apologize for the intrusion, but I just thought I'd give my 2 cents while I'm at it.

But if three shots were fired, one after the other - wouldn't dodging one mean you're out of the way for the rest? Anyway - I like it. Makes good sense
