Ah, my mistake. Sorry. Although, if you ask who REALLY controlled the Nadesico...

Omoikane controlled a large percentage of the Nadesicos, through Ruri, while Minato controlled Navigations.
and about the movie, apparently you didn't read my spoiler text saying that she didn't take control of the ship during the final battle because she was too busy hacking everyone else's computers

Just as a reprise, I think the difference between my point of view and Regris's point of view goes like this:
Q) How good is the class at defending themselves in melee? A) Very capable, one of the best.
Q) Does the class have a bladed-weapon focus? A) Not really. They're great with Field Lancer and fine with Immediate Knife the times those are used, but are just as likely to use something else, e.g. Distortion Attack, to defend themselves in melee.
This creates a dilemma. For GFs, which I think have a similar problem, we solve it by giving them countercut in anything with an (M) attack. MSes aren't on the same level as GFs, and don't deserve anything that drastic, though; for MSes I think the best answer to the problem is just to give them good countercut with IFS. More interesting suggestions are of course welcome.

That's just as good, IMO.
But I just had a thought, which probably isn't a good idea at all: Maybe a Martian Successor in a mothership with IFS could have an ability similar to pressure thanks to the hacking thing that Ruri can do? (Or is that not an IFS thing? Or not a good idea? >.> )

That's a unit ability on Nadesico C right now.

Erm... Ok.
So... is there anything else we need to discuss?

Yeah, we got rid of the CC one size larger rule. I'll leave it to DF to re-write the rules.

I made a slight wording change because of support defense, too - neither attacks you support defend for someone else nor attacks someone support defends for you are meant to count toward Boson Jump charges.
Martian Successor
Starting Max SP: 75
Maximum SP Cap: 150
Skills & Abilities:
- Dodge Cost is 13. Minimum Dodge Cost is 5. - Countercut: 2 EN or 5 PCs
- Nanomachine Implant: Activates only in a unit with IFS. Dodge Cost is 7, Countercut: 1 EN or 4 PCs. In size S or SS units, add an additional Dodge Cost -2 and target's Dodge Cost +3. Lieutenant: Countershoot. In Mothership Class units, instead of the above bonuses: damage dealt +30%, target's Dodge Cost +5, and lower DC by 5 then re-lock at the lower value.
- Boson Jump: Dodge all attacks from one attack phase. Charge 1 unit for each enemy attack phase directed wholly or partly at you that is not support defended; charge 1 unit after a turn in which there is no attack directed at you that is not support defended. Private: Start with 1 use, max 1 use. Charge 7 units to regain one use. Corporal: Start with 2 uses, max 2 uses. Charge 7 units to regain one use. Sergeant: Start with 2 uses, max 2 uses. Charge 6 units to regain one use. Ensign: Start with 3 uses, max 3 uses. Charge 6 units to regain one use. Lieutenant: Start with 3 uses, max 3 uses. Charge 5 units to regain one use.
- A-Class Jumper: Ignore terrain Dodge Cost penalties. Lieutenant Martian Successors only.
