Well then, why not this?
For (X), A-up (C)/(SC) gives +3 damage. For (V), (R), and x and # multihits, it gives +5 damage. For anything else, it gives +10 damage.

It does. I still have reservations regarding this. I don't think that this is a good way to solve the issue because we all know that both the A-Up and the (X) can be just as deadly without each other. Having to make a specific rule for all interactions such as this leads to a rather unwieldy, Yu-Gi-Oh-ish set of rules where X always beats Y. Since the A-Up can be mighty killer with non-(X) weapons as well, especially those Vulcans/Twin Vulcans, any multihit or (V)/#/(R), etc., why not just lower the A-Up bonus to +5 universally and work on (X)s as a seperate issue?

I'm all for Tilus' idea.

We can never come up with perfect solution that will truly satisfy everyone. Weakening A-Ups overall isn't really going to help us solve the problem of dodging being better than tanking, but going with the different bonuses for weapon types seems to me like the best way to go thus far. I admit it's not an ideal solution, and while we want to keep things simple, I think this is the simplest we can get without nerfing the item too much.
We haven't come up with an effective fix for the (X) weapon's number of hits yet, but this can at least be a temporary measure that we can repeal later on if it's ineffective.

Well, I don't see in particular why we would do this for the additive bonus but leave multiplicative bonuses alone, for example. Most (X)s aren't so weak that a Dynamic pilot won't get them up to better than the current +10 bonus just with pilot effects.

So have we decided on nerfing the A-Ups? (and which version of nerf are we using?)
One of the other unrelated positive things I see in doing so is that V-Up value will go up as well~ So that's the perfect solution, item balance-wise~ (because I've been trying to figure out what to do with the pretty useless V-Ups -_-;;; )

That's what I was also thinking. The V-Ups would be lots more useful if the A-Ups weren't already making them essentially obsolete. And that's what an across-the-line nerf would help. The V-Ups could be jacked up slightly too, perhaps.

Johnny> The thing is, multiplicative bonuses are all over the place, not to mention the Dynamic classes have been nerfed recently. Their multiplicative bonus isn't all that constant.
Anyway, I think I should start a new thread and put this to a vote. In the meanwhile, let's continue with (X) weapons.
