Mazinger Pilots need higher damage reduction at the lower levels of Yan's suggestion. Otherwise, we take a lot of the pain.

Well, I'm sorry if it seems that way, as it was not entirely my intent.
Though I did mean what I said about the comparisons. I don't know if you've taken any sort of statistics course (or how well one over there is run), but one of the key aspects of a test sample is that all tests are run equally. If you're trying to test for one thing, you test only that one thing, anything else added will cloud the results. If I want to see if the units are balanced, I use people with the exact same class (preferably classless, but dependant on situations) and only have variable units. If I want to see if the classes are balanced, I use people with the exact same units and have variable classes. This way we can tell if the classes themselves are balanced, because differences in unit power and capabilities won't have any factor in the results.

I like Yan's suggestion, although Imban's concern does have merit. Maybe stretch out the defense boosts over a higher HP range?

How's this?
Mazin: 50% = -40%/+25% <---This is the only change I made. 40% = -45%/+50% 30% = -60%/+75% 20% = -75%/+100%
Getter: 50% = -20%/+75% 40% = -30%/+150% 30% = -40%/+225% 20% = -50%/+300%
Gren: 50% = -25%/+40~50% 40% = -35%/+80~100% 30% = -50%/+125~150% 20% = -65%/+175~200%

Lets get this over with and test it coz its turning out the opinion of people who only thinks inside the box and people who thinks outside of the box are really getting into each others nerves.
Besides its impossible to have a balance system even if you turn it upside down eternally, too many factors comes into place. So if the stats are fine with the mods/admins lets get the show on the road.

How about making Mazin 40% be -50%? That'll even out the curve a bit.

-30% at 50% HP is much more even.

Mafty, as it stands, at levels less than the 20% level, Mazins are crushed by Getters.
The defense bonus needs to be higher, as we're the (practically) defense-only dynamic. Getter gets almost doubled damage at its first level, after all.

As a Mazinger Pilot, I partially agree with Imban, a higher level of defense at higher levels of health would be nice, though I must also add that we Mazinger Pilots have Chogokin on our mecha, plus we have pure MAZIN POWER! That's right, the power that only Mazingers and their pilots have, and the power that shall....
Wait... anyway, I am raving and ranting too much. You get the idea.
EDIT: After some thinking through, how about this?
Mazin Pilot
50% = -40%/+25% 40% = -50%/+50% 30% = -65%/+75% 20% = -75%/+100%

Getter and Mazin are susposed to be mirrors of each other, correct? Well, at -30% at 50%, Mazins do not reduce an equivalent amount to how much Getters boost the damage. -40% at 50% and -50% at 40% is much closer to an even ratio then what it is currently, though even -50% still puts the ratio in Getter's favour.

"Much more even" meaning the increments are much more even. How about 45-55-65-75 for Mazin then? As much as possible, I would like to standardize increments so as to help calculation by players.
Though I see the point, I kinda think you guys are comparing these SR classes with each other too much. (Maybe it's because they're closest to each other?) Getters seemingly might have the better end of the curve, but you'd have to take into account that their defense abilities aren't that much developed, which can be a decisive factor in fights.
As for the numbers....Hmm...I guess it's because /4 is -75% and x4 is +300%....so it might give out an illusion that the Getters get the better deal. (Well, it might be only true to a controlled environment, but what about actual battles?)
Hmm. After making some calculations though, it seems the median falls in between 45-50 if you want Mazin's Potential to be in the level of Getter at that HP level, but let us not forget Mazin Power. So, with Mazin Power active (stacked, mind you), at 50% HP with a -30% for Potential, the Mazinger Pilot still has the advantage. Why?
Let's say a 50 damage attack. At 50%, it is boosted to 87.5 damage by a Getter.
So, if a Mazinger at 50% HP takes the hit, calculations with result in the Mazinger taking 42.875 damage, which effectively cancels out the Getter's Potential and a bit more.
At best, these things should be tested. We're playing with numbers, after all.

Well, you do have to remember that the classes must be balanced both in their series units and out of their series units. The additional DR given by Mazin Power is offset by the bonus Open Gets Getters get.
