Feeling the need to counter Federation's Personal Troopers, Neo Zeon Engineers began to build a countermeasure - that is, building their own line of Personal Troopers, labelled the NPT-series. To start with, the Neo Zeon Engineers built two Personal Troopers with nodel number NPT-01, which serves as a base to be customized later on by two chosen Neo Zeon Ace Pilots. The other Ace Pilot chosen to customize the NPT-01 is none other than the Red Comet himself.
