Then she looked up, and saw, as from outside the TFO was lost to sight in a huge dense storm of glowing streamers. In the cloud's core, nothing could have survived... but the small craft came around from behind it, in the hellacious but barely survivable edge. It managed to get moving toward the Grey Gespenst before the engines died - hardly the first system to go, as its lazy roll exposed the gaping hole where the left third of the craft had been.
But passed out inside her pilot suit, injured but intact, Kim was smiling.
