I have a Mazinger Z that has went through some SC battles already. Can I use those past battles as Evo counters for Minerva X? Or do I have to restart all over again?

Yes, they still count.

Although last I heard, if you have more than the required number of fights you have to start over (as if you fought them while the evo was out) instead of getting to evo regardless. Seems a little silly.

Here's another question involving evo stuff. If I use that evo point seishin, do I get twice the omake points as well?

For now, I say yes. If someone should think otherwise, then say so.
Which brings me to an idea I had. A lot of the time, the wording for evolves is kinda iffy. I mean, do we really intend for 5 fights, or just 5 counters? Both unit evolves and weapon unlocks simply state that they require X fights. So if we say that omakes fall under Training, then why shouldn't weapon unlocks, by that logic. I don't think they should, which is why I propose this.
Basically, instead of saying something like:
Purchasing Costs: Not Applicable. To acquire this unit, Gundam Leopard must be used in 5 SimChamber battles. Gundam Leopard Destroy will then replace the original Gundam Leopard.
we simply go:
Purchasing Costs: Not Applicable. To acquire this unit, Gundam Leopard must have 5 Evolution Counters. Gundam Leopard Destroy will then replace the original Gundam Leopard.
Doesn't seem like much of a change, does it? But making it off a number instead of just going "fights" makes it much easier to not only understand Training's bonus, but also when a unit has multiple evolutions or omakes. Two common questions are "Do fights for evolution count for omakes?" and "Do prior fights count for evolutions which were just released?" Simply stating that you need to have X many evolution points on the unit to acquire makes this clear.
This can then make a distinction between evolution and unlocking. There'd be no confusion when it comes down to weither this really means X fights, or weither it means X counters. Like, Baikanfu's Unmei Ryoudanken - Twin Blade versus going from Nu Gundam to Hi-Nu Gundam.

Sounds good to me.

I think that's a good idea as well. I've been wondering about those unlocked weapons myself recently.

Yeah, this is a good idea.

I think the old way is better, yeah to us old members the second looks ok, but then how about the new people who would join, since you said counters, the question is how to gain the counters. Which we old members will sy tru fighting. Which would make the old way of stating evolution clearer since you do need X fights to gain something and there wont be any room for doubts or questions

But then you can buy evo counters, and it all falls apart.

There's more doubts in the current version. I mean, it's really simple. The rules already state that you get Evolution Counters through SC fights. There really is no confusion. So then this number can be modified by spells (Training), or they can be outright bought. This makes more sense, and is much easier to comprehend, then using the word fights.

Yeah. We might as well change it considering how the rules already mention EVO counters in multiple places.

As a semi-N00b, I feel the counter thing is easier. The Evo wordings confuse me, especially the non-standard ones where you like, do XX amount of battles and pay X PC's but it's STILL not a normal Evo, like the Dopp. WTF?
