There's a lot of units in the Hangar which are priced way above what's reasonable for their power level. Why don't we look at some examples?
You could get:
YF-19 Alpha One (Soldier Mode)
Statistics:
HP: 35, EN: 20, IS: 3, Size: S
Weapons:
Anti-Air Laser Gun (B)- 6 damage, 10 rounds
High Maneuverability Missiles (GSV)- 6 damage/PCs

The OYW Ace Customs are also hideously overpriced, but maybe it's appropriate since the majority of the are overpowered for their era, as well. It'd be nice if someone could go through a lot of these older units and update them with prices appropriate for their power level.
