Once you've installed a chip on a mech, it's considered as a permanent part of unit from here on. Also, if you don't post your chipped units in either of the threads present at the moment most especially the Unique units thread, it's considered illegal so the chipped unit would not be considered. Another thing is that you must note on your post in the unique units thread how many chips you have not yet installed. From here on out, all SC members can no longer move around their chips from one unit to another. Once it's there, it's absolute.
