However, later in the war, the Neo Zeon realizes the need of developing a grunt unit capable of hit-and-run tactics, and of their current selection of grunt units, none of them are capable of doing so, either because of lack of devastating weapon, or lack in agility, or sometimes both. Thus, a new plan for a new line of grunt unit is made. This time, the Neo Zeon engineers base their design from the MS-06R-1 High Mobility Zaku II. Its standard armaments comprises of a Heat Hawk and a Machinegun, and it's armed with a Sturm Booster, which grants a big mobility boost. This Amplified Bazooka fires an amplified nuclear warhead shell, which, although not as destructive as the GP02A's, it's still enough to bring down most mechas and motherships in existence with a single shot.

The mechs has been divided into two main types - Real Robots, which are more agile and maneuverable, but lacking in armor and raw destructive power, and Super Robots, which are powerful and durable, yet not as agile as their Real counterparts.
