If you want to know what the real difference between the SC and the PA is, you've come to the right place.
We have three main types of fights that we will discuss in this thread:

PA Fights
I heard that PA are free. Is that true?
Yes. The main difference between Parallel Assimilator (PA) and SimChamber (SC) fights is that PA fights are, for all intents and purposes, FREE.
This means that: 1. You do not spend any PCs after the battle. The PC limit is still there, but you don't deduct any of the PCs that you spend after the battle.
2. Any perishable items that might consume are not removed from your AM after the fight.
Spiff. What's the catch?
You don't earn PC rewards after the fight. Training fights don't net Evolution points for your mechs either, regardless if you win or not. Hey, you can't get something for nothing, right?
You do, however, earn Upgrade Points. (UPs) These are points that you may use the increase your seishin point pool or purchase new seishins. The amount you earn is 10% of the PC limit, REGARDLESS of whether you win or not.
That's about it for PA fights.

SC Fights
So, what are SimChamber fights all about?
These are the serious, "hardcore" matches. Any PCs that you spend here are deducted from your PCD at the end of the fight, and so are perishable items. These fights are held in the SC instead of the PA.
What's the upside, then?
Prizes are at stake. The standard prize is usually double the PC limit of a particular fight. Ergo, a fight with a 100 PC-limit will have a 200 PC prize at stake...
Ergo?
...uhm...ergo is Latin for therefore. Can we go on now?
Oh! Go on, then, please.
So, having a PC limit of 100 can get you a prize of 200 PCs, 150 sets the prize at 300, and 200 bumps up the prize at 400, and so on. Unless of course you make special arrangements with the mods in the application thread for a different prize. Note that we don't just give away ANY prize, what prizes we can give is subject to the SimChamber mods' discretion. In the event of a tie, the tied players receive an amount of PCs equal to the PC limit, and a number of UPs as if that was the winning prize. So if it was a 150 PC match, all tied players win 150 PCs and 18 UPs.
FFAs (Free-for-alls) have a special prize setup. A FFA is defined as a match with 4 or more participants, where there are no teams (IE: 4 people or more fighting each other). A Team FFA is similar, but with 4 or more teams of people. In a FFA, the winner receives double the normal prize. The people who place 2nd through Xth, where X is half the number of entrants (rounded up) receive the normal prize. All other participants receive the normal losers prize.
What else do I get out of non-training fights?
Like PA fights, you earn UPs from SC fights as well. However, you earn significantly more UPs from SC fights. After all, it's actual battle experience.
The amount of UPs you earn if you lose the battle is 10% of the PC prize. If you won the battle, the amount of UPs you get is 12% of the PC prize.
Don't forget you also get evolution points from fighting SC battles. Certain mechs need to be used a number of times before you unlock and acquire a more powerful form. For example, you need to use the Wing Gundam five times in a fight to get the Wing Gundam Zero.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We won't have any short, lame battles just so that the participants can get an evolution point. Work for that point, people!

VS FightsWhat's this wacky place all about? The VS is where special fights called Events are held. Events are similar to PA battles, except for 2 main differences: - Units and items being used in a VS battle are NOT considered in-use for SC or PA battles. If you're using a mech in an Event, then you can still use that mech in another fight. - VS battles may give awards. These awards may be the usual PCs and UPs, but could also include mechs and items (maybe even ones you couldn't normally get otherwise). Other then these 2 differences, a VS battle runs much the same as a PA battle. Anything you consume in a VS battle is not deducted from your PCD or AM after the match ends. Awesome! How do I get in one of these things?People who wish to run an Event will post in the Commlink or Bridge looking for participants. Anyone who wishes to enter may post expressing thus. Most events have a maximum number of participants, though, so not everyone can get in on the action. What if I wanted to run an Event? Please refer to this post. This topic also expands on this description. Can I get evolution/rank/whatever points out of Events?VS matches count as PA fights for intents of rank, but unless specifically noted, Events do not give any other type of point. This concludes our session on the types of fights.
