What are Mecha?
This should be fairly self explanatory. Mecha, robots, mechs, or whatever you'd like to refer to them as, are the units needed to participate in Sim Chamber fights. WIthout one, you can't participate.
Can I use any mecha I like?
Sure. But do take care that some mechs require you to be of a certain Pilot Class, as well as Rank Requirements to pilot them.

How to obtain Mecha
The Hangar Very simple. The easiest way to obtain a mecha is by purchasing one from the Hangar. There are a mass of units available for sale within the hangar.
Other SC participants You may also buy mecha from other participants in the SC who decide to sell you a mech they no longer wish to have.
Event/Prize Awards Also, mechs may be given as prize awards for events or contests. Unlike item awards from the same, you cannot sell back mechs attained this way to the Hangar, but you may sell it to other members.
Remember, the funds used in every mecha purchase MUST be notated and deducted from your PC account. Additionally, all mecha you own MUST be posted in your Axial Mainframe account.

What Mecha Statistics Mean Now that you have a mecha, you'll notice it has a number of statistics. Let me present an example of a mecha status sheet, then explain;
Psybuster Statistics: HP: 60 EN: 40 IS: 2
Weapons: 1) Caloric Missile (SPV)- 10 damage, 10 rounds 2) Death Cutter (M)- 18 damage 3) Hi-Familliar (PX)- 16 damage/2 PCs. 4) Akashic Buster- 60 damage, 4 EN/shot 5) Cyflash (S)- 100 damage, 10 EN/shot 6) Cosmonova- DESTROY, 1 round 7) Death Cutter Ranbu no Tachi (X)- 20 damage/PC. Requires Masoukishin Herald's Unlock Potential to execute.
Inherent Abilities 1) Usable by Masoukishin Heralds only. 2) Countercut 3) Cybird Mode: Dodge Cost -5. Only Caloric Missile, Hi-Familliar and Cyflash are enabled. 4) Spirit Dependency Link 5) Cosmonova: Target's Dodge Cost +10.
The Statistics HP: Short for Hit Points; a measure of how much damage your mech can take before it is destroyed; when this drops to zero, your mech is totaled and you're effectively out of the match.
EN: This is a measure of how much energy your mech readily has available. Weapons, Countercutting, certain barriers, and certain abilities require the mech to expend EN in order to be utilized; when this is completely depleted, none of the afforementioned attributes may be utilized.
IS: Short for Item Slots; this measures how many items your mech may carry or have installed on it at one time; for more details here, refer to the item guide
Weapons
A listing of all the attacks your mech may perform in a fight. Some require no consumption to use; others require EN, some require PCs, and others may require a special class You may have noticed various abbreviations such as (M), (X) or additional effects such as PARALYZE or DESTROY; these sub-abilities and notations will be covered further in the weapons faq.
Inherent Abilities A listing of all the additional abilities your mech may perform in a fight. If it is able to use a shield, countercut, transform, regenerate, or perform some other type of special ability, it will be listed here. Additionally, the rank or class requirement is always the first point listed here. You may BUY any mech you choose; but keep in mind that if you do not fulfill the pilot class or rank requirement, you will be unable to use it in a Sim Chamber battle.
Hi-Tier and Boss-class Mechs You might notice that some mechs in the Hangar are marked "Hi-Tier" or "Boss." What does this mean?
It simply means that these units are more powerful than most other units. Hi-Tier units are significantly more powerful than standard Lieutenant-class mechs. Hi-Tier mechs usually have limited regeneration abilities and HP ratings of 80 to 150, as well as a number of powerful attacks. Boss-class mechs, on the other hand, are much more powerful than even Hi-Tier mechs. Boss-class mechs usually possess large regeneration abilities, huge amounts of HP and EN, as well as a number of devastating attacks.
A good number of these units used to be auction-mechs only, but since the abolition of the auction system, they have been made available for public consumption.
The Hi-Tier and Boss tags are simply meant to define the power levels of mechs more to aid in fight stipulations.

Selling mecha
If for some reason you weren't satisfied with your mecha, or if you want to clean out some of your unused mechs, you can sell it out. There are 2 ways of achieving this:
1. Through the Hangar This is the easiest and most automated way to sell. You can sell immediately back to the Hangar, but you will only be paid 50% of the current price. Think carefully before you sell. This can only be done with mechs that you have purchased. Gifts from other members, or prize awards cannot be sold back in this manner. Also, to indicate that you sold the unit, remove it from your AM Account as well as noting the 'gain' in your PCD Account.
2. Through the Pilot Lounge This is a bit more tricker, since in this case you'll be posting an ad to sell your equipment (items can also be sold this way too!). What is different from selling to the Hangar is that you can set your own price. Of course, you'll have to figure out what is a good price so that somebody will buy your unit. You can also negotiate with other pilots if they or yourself request to adjust the price. In other words, the Hangar takes no responsibility for what you do in the Pilot Lounge. Again, when you make a successful sell, remove the unit(s) from your AM Account and note down how many PCs you've gained in your PCD Account.

Hopefully, after everything that Shuu has explained you are aware of what a mecha is (otherwise, you wouldn't be a SRW fan) how to go about obtaining one, and what the various statistics on it mean. This last section is reserved for any frequently asked questions members have.
Do I get a complementary mech like I did items for free? No. Unlike your starter pack of Propellant Tanks, Repair Kits, and Reloaders, you'll actually have to pay for the mech on your own.
But what about this "piloting rights" thing I've heard of? The piloting rights system was one that awarded participants a free mecha if their names and persona matched up to a character in SRW. Thus a "Zengar" would get a free Sledgelmir, "Ryuusei" a free R-1, "Shuu" a free Granzon, and so forth. Due to abuse however, that system has been trashed.
Alright then..if I actually shell out the money for a mech, do I lose it if it's destroyed in a fight? You do not. Additionally, there are no 'repair fees' for mecha as well. If you lose a fight, the only loss you've incurred are the PCs you've spent in battle, if any.
Am I allowed to lend my mechs or borrow them from another person? You are only permitted to borrow mechs from members of your designated faction; so if you're still a 'free agent', think of it as another plus to joining a faction.
Can I rent my mecha to anybody else? No. Period.
Am I allowed to use the same mech in more than one fight? NO. You are more than welcome to participate in more than one battle at a time, however you must use a different mech in each battle. All mechs are locked into a participating battle until 1 - the fight is over, 2 - your mech is destroyed in battle or 3 - you withdraw voluntarily from the fight.
Can I 'customize' my mech? The only customization you are allowed is cosmetic changes, such as changing weapon names (you must indicate the real names of the attacks in your AM, however), or having a modified color scheme or sprite. However, any modification of the statistics of the mech is strictly forbidden, unless through the effects of an upgrade chip (such as a Daba Upgrade Chip, or the Ice and Silmaril Chip), or through special upgrades sanctioned by Daba Mylord (Note: Special upgrades are no longer acquirable, but some of these mechs still exist).
