My grocery budget is now at about $130 a month, and I have FINALLY gotten my hands on a skillet (aluminum, not no-stick unfortunately). Suggestions? I'm getting tired of rice, ramen, beans, and potatos all the time.

Eggs. You can get a dozen for under a buck. Fried, scrambled, hard boiled. Add a little salt, and you've got the better portion of a meal.

Spam and canned sausages? It kinda sucks that most cheap food is bad for you, but it seems you don't have a choice. <_<

Yes, bread. When I'm bored at common foods. You oculd never be wrong with bread. Just remember to put some butter and sugar on it.

i know you said you are sick of rice but i think making fried rice is also good ^_^ the only possible problem there is if you dont like repeating your food. fried rice usually lasts for two to three meals in my home ^_^

A really good soup makes up for a meal once in awhile. You could try noodle soup I've usually eaten when I'm on the break from the weekly pay: - Throw in some spagghetti.
- Tomato sauce or any soup souce would do good.
- Onions? Carrots? Brocolli? Turnips? Whichever, goes fine.
- Let it boil with two or three eggs.
- Throw in some tuna fish or mackeral.
Let it boil and have a good taste. You got yourself a good but healthy soup there. Guess that's what happens for me growing up under a Puerto rican family that cooks alot. Hehe.

That's too expensive. And yes I have done this topic before-- the reason I am reposting it is cause I have a little bit more flexibility in my budget now.

A lot of things are unhealthy. I'd just get plenty of exercise and antioxidants.
