The Axial Mainframe: Checks and Stuff

I suppose there should be some sort of explanation for all of this. Basically, as inspector of the Axial Mainframe, it's my job to make sure you're not cheating at anything.

Below is a list of 11 rules (well, most are more or less suggestions and stuff; I only enforce about 6 or 7 of the 11.

Rule #1: Please post your units' stats as you buy them. No stats, no unit. Put simply, if you do not put your unit's stats down as you acquire them, you do not own the mecha. Get it? Got it? Good.

Rule #2: Please don't remove AM Check messages unless I give the okay. How else will I know that I checked your AM account if I don't see my AM messages there?

Rule #3: Mecha repossessions can, and WILL happen, if your actions warrant it (i.e., you doing something that ETERNALLY pisses Daba off). They'll probably be replaced with a Tricycle or a Bullwan, or, if the public demands it, a condom. Yes, we're that evil.

Rule #4: Please be sure to state whether or not you bought the unit / got it for free / rented it from where or whom. In terms of purchasing mecha, just noting in your PC Depot account will do.

Rule #5: Congratulation! A winner is you! ... that is, unless you have a Failing mark, then you have no chance to survive make your time until the mark is removed.

Rule #6: No empty posts. Please. If I see an empty post, you can bet it will be deleted. An empty posts consists of no text. Smilies, empty tables, and pictures do not count as text.

Rule #7: Please, PLEASE do not fill your AM posts with gibberish. This is considered spam, and will be duly noted. Thank you.

Rule #8: There is no Rule #8. You have been bamboozled.

Rule #9: Due to some complaints to 56k users, Daba has requested that there be a limit to non SC-related picture files. If your pictures files pertain to the SC World, the limit is 5kb. If they're SC-related (mecha only), then the limit is 50kb, since I know how hard it is to find a decent pic of a mecha, if you can't find a sprite ripped from SRW. As for pics that don't pertain to the SC World or the SC (mecha), they're gone. Toast. Nuked. This rule goes into effect within 12 hours.

Rule #10: This more or less pertains to the SC World. I know a lot of you like to list sub-characters, but please, do NOT go over your allotted limit. Thank you. And remember: Frames don't count towards a character limit.

And the most important rule...

Rule #11: All your mecha are belong to Tobikage.

Please note that I will start enforcing these 11 (7) rules 24 hours from this post, with noted exceptions.

Tips on Making a Killer AM Account

Tip #01: Please don't abuse the glow / shadow / font size tags (especially in succession). You'll make everyone else's eyes hurt.

Tip #02: If you're going to use other peoples' AM account ideas, then please make sure you give them credit.

Tip #03: If you're a newbie, please record your free ability and the Newbie Pack (10 Repair Kits, 10 Propellant Tanks, 10 Reloaders).

Tip #04: Again, if you're going to use other peoples' AM account ideas, don't make it look as if you just took their tables and threw in your own stuff. They are NOT templates for your own personal use. This is plagarism, and will not be tolerated.

There are two markings I will be using when I do AM checks: Passing and Failing. Shouldn't be too hard to understand for those that actually utilize their brains.

Passing is simple: Follow the rules, and when I check your AM, you're good to go. Correct item readout, correct unit stats, and making sure you actually have unit stats will get you this mark. Granted, I know you can't edit your AM accounts quickly, so I usually just remind people to update unit stats.

Failing is simple, as well: Don't follow the rules when I check your AM. There are exceptions, like when Daba intervenes.

A Passing mark is easy to understand, in terms of consequences: You can continue to fight in the SimChamber without worry. ;D

A Failing mark isn't quite as easy to understand for some people, but is easy nonetheless: You can't fight in the SimChamber. If you are currently in a fight when you get a Failing mark, then boom. You lose the match by default. No questions asked. Failing mark consequences usually last from 24 hours to 2 weeks, depending on the severity of the rule infringements (not to mention how many times you offended the rules). The standard is usually a 72 hour freeze.

The Check Process

A usual AM check will consist of the following, in this format:

Date, Time (US Eastern time)

Status: / Marking : (insert marking here)

(Insert banter here) - Alkaiser

Now, an example:

69 January, 0666, 5:30 PM US Eastern time

Marking: Looks like you're PASSING everything with flying colors!

You might wanna clarify some stuff and clean your AM up, but that's about it. - Alkaiser

And another:

13 March, 2942, 6:10 AM US Eastern time

Marking: It's a long fly ball to right FAILED!

You forgot to add in your mecha stats. I've given you a 3-day warning on this, and you still haven't taken heed. Please contemplate this for a week. - Alkaiser

Notice the difference between the two? The first one has a random message in the "banter" section, while the second one states the reason for the failing mark.

There are two times when I do AM account checks:

1) Whenever I have the time on weekdays
2) On weekends

The current list for 14 December 2002 is as follows:

Please note that I do not take requests, nor will I budge an inch if you demand I check your AM account. The list is here for a reason.

Rental outlets... these are really special. With stuff like these set up, one can use mecha that others own--for a small price. Basically, if it's available at a rental outlet, and it's got a price tag on it, you can rent it out. However, only a select few chosen by Daba can actually run a rental outlet (namely, Beanoverse, mafty, and myself). That'll be covered in a separate thread, but I'll dabble in the basics of the Rental Outlet here.

1) Only mecha that the Rental Outlet people are not using can be rented out. Contact them for an official transaction.

2) Each Rental Outlet has its own rules on payment. Please follow these rules to continue using the outlet's services.

Until I think of anything else that needs covered here, this should be it.

Just in case anyone forgets the shield formula, I've posted it here:

• Private: 2 Shield uses
• Corporal: 4 Shield uses
• Sergeant: 6 Shield uses
• Ensign: 8 Shield uses
• Lieutenant: 10 Shield uses

Remember: A lot of mecha use the shield formula for other abilities, such as Zamzeed's Burrow and a Getter's Open Get / Gate.

The G-Bit D.O.M.E. (aka G-Bit) formula is a variation of the shield formula, albeit cut in half.

• Private: 1 G-Bit D.O.M.E.
• Corporal: 2 G-Bit D.O.M.E.s
• Sergeant: 3 G-Bit D.O.M.E.s
• Ensign: 4 G-Bit D.O.M.E.s
• Lieutenant: 5 G-Bit D.O.M.E.s

Of course, this is only useful to Newtypes and Enhanced Humans, so...
